We are offering for sale this stunning still life by the Hungarian artist Bela Balogh, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a table draped with a burgundy, satin lined curtain over a white cloth. To the right of the painting is an embossed silver ewer, with a similarly embossed oval fruit bowl in the centre, piled high with bunches of grapes, apples and pears. To the left is a single goblet and a vase filled with lilac in various shades.

BELA BALOGH, 1909-1980, was a Hungarian artist who specialised in still life arrangements of fruit and flowers with ewers, steins etc. Unfortunately, we have no further biographical information on him.

The painting is framed in a 3 1/2" silver gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
