We are offering this rather dramatic marine oil painting on canvas by the Worthing artist Rob Huxley, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a boat belonging to the Falkland Islands Company, being tossed around on the waves, during an apparent storm. The Falkland Islands Company was granted a licence to trade by Queen Victoria on 10th January 1852.

Rob Huxley is an English artist living in Worthing, Sussex who specialises in maritime art and whose style has been influenced greatly by Turner. His subjects include Viking longships and galleons, as well as other vessels. Many examples of his paintings can be seen on google and on his own website.

The painting is framed in a 1 3/4" gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Condition: Very good. The canvas is clean and taut and the frame is in good condition with some minor wear consistent with use.
