Description

We are offering this charming Sevres style porcelain and gilt brass Table Lamp and shade by the makers of the Downton Abbey TV series lampshades. The base bears the crossed ls or double louis mark as shown.

The lamp sits on a square, footed base, has a circulr socle, with a gold wreath around it, then a foliate corona in gilt brass, at the base of the vase section, which has a design of hand painted flowers within a gilt rococo surround, the reverse having a gilt design. The cover is blue porcelain has a gilt brass 'crown' attached to which are the two ornate handles. The hand painted flowers are signed Reda.

The shade is in the 'Ballerina' style in gold silk damask, with soft gold fringe, braid and gold and white beaded tassels.

The lamp has been rewired in antique gold coloured braided fabric coverede wire and has all new fittings. As with all electrical items, it is recommended that it be checked by a qualified electrician before use.

Condition: Very good. There are two small chips to the top of the white porcelain section just below the 'crown', but these are barely noticeable. The shade is new, as are all the lamp fittings.
