Description

We are offering this tall 19th Century French Brass Pricket Candlestick and are including the large, slightly used, beeswax church candle that came with it. The Candlestick has a flared circular base ornamented with raised flowers and fruit, which is supported by three legs cast as mythical beasts, with wings like an angel. Please see the close up photograph. There are two columns with a twisted raised design and leaves and fruit, with a central socle. Below the two columns is a smaller socle with turquoise glass cabochons, all of which are present and intact.

Height: 26" to top of spike - 66cm

Height to drip pan: 22 3/4" - 57.8cm

Base (foot to foot): 9" - 22.85cm

Materials: Brass & glass

Condition: Very good. One of the small brass embellishments on the ring below the socle with the cabochons, has been replaced at some stage with a slightly different one, but this is barely noticeable. The glass cabochons are perfect.
