Description

This is a very pretty oil painting on fine canvas laid to board by the decorative artist Georgina Alberta Pumfrey and dates to the mid 20th Century. The painting depicts a bouquet of mixed flowers, including roses, irises, foxgloves, lily of the valley, passion flowers, pansies and primulas, all tied up with blue ribbon.

Georgina Alberta Pumfrey, was born in Hove, Sussex in 1909. She seems to have specialised in painting still life oils of flowers, although we found one landscape. In the 1939 Register, at the outbreak of WWII, she was living at 3, Applesham Avenue, Hove, with her parents and was described as a decorative artist. After that, the trail goes cold, as there are no more records available to public view and we can find no trace of her date of death.

The painting is framed in a 2" crackled gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
