Description

This is a beautiful piece of mid-Century costume jewellery. It is a large Gilt Butterfly Brooch with multi-coloured stones and three multi-facetted rhinestone drops. The body of the butterfly has two large ruby coloured stones and an amethyst coloured one for the head, while the antennae are in amber and clear. The striped in the wings of the butterfly are made of amethyst coloured, blue and rhinestone circular stones, and the rest of the wings have circular and square stones of differing sizes. The brooch sparkles beautifully from every angle.

Although it is beautifully made, we have been unable to find any maker's mark, which is surprising. It has a roll over safety clasp as shown.

Maximum height: 3 1/2" - 9cm

Condition: Very good. There is one small stone partially missing, but this would only be noticed with a magnifying glass.
