Description

We are offering for sale this lovely paperweight by the Caithness Glass Company of Scotland. The weight is named 'Flamenco' and was designed by Alastair Ross in 1980. It appeared in the Caithness Catalogue in 1983 Volume. The design number is U96127. It was retired in 2004. It is etched CAITHNESS EXTRAVAGANZA SCOTLAND on the base.

The weight has ribbons of red and blue running through it with a white dotted twist in the centre. The solid colour in the base is purple and there are controlled bubbles around the outer edge. Please see the photographs as they form part of the item description. The weight is boxed in the original Caithness box.

The Caithness Glass Company Limited started operations in 1961 and began making paperweights in 1962 after the arrival of Paul Ysart.

Condition: Excellent condition, with only a few faint scratches on the base from use. There is some wear to the edges of the box.
