Description

We are pleased to offer this mid 19th Century watercolour of a hunting scene, which is, unfortunately, unsigned either on the painting itself or on the back. In the centre foreground is one of the huntsmen, clad in pinks, with his two tone boots, heading up a hill on his bay horse. It looks like a wintry day, as his horse is blowing steam from its nostrils. There is another huntsman and one of the hounds in the distance, slightly further up the hill.

This is one of a pair of hunting watercolours by this artist that we are listing.

As we do not know the identity of the artist, we cannot offer any biographical information on him or her.

The painting has been newly double mounted in two tone acid free mountboard and is newly framed in a 1 1/8" bronze frame that suits it very well.
