We are offering for sale this landscape oil on canvas by the artist, who we believe to be Henrietta S. Scott, who has signed the painting H. Scott in the lower centre. The painting depicts a view of a waterfall, gushing down from the hills, with heavily wooded banks. There is the figure of a gentleman with a walking stick, who is standing on a large rocky outcrop next to the waterfall.

Henrietta Scott, was a landscape painter, who exhibited in 1891-1892, and lived at 20 Torrington Square, London. She exhibited 4 paintings at the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham, two at the Manchester City Art Gallery and 1 at the Royal Society of British Artists.

The painting is newly framed in a 3" gilt frame to suit. It is ready to hang.

Medium: Oils on canvas

Condition: Very good. The canvas is clean and taut with no repairs. There is no craquelure but there are slight stretcher marks consistent with age. The frame is new.
