Description

We are offering for sale this lovely pair of Green Onyx and Ormolu Cassolettes in the Regency style. The domed onyx lid has a grape finial with grape and leaf decoration capping the dome. The onyx body is decorated with ormolu swags of leaves and grapes and the three reeded outswept legs are topped with masks and terminate in hoof feet, standing on a triform marble base with central foliate rosette. There are three ormolu reeded feet.

Cleverly, if you reverse the lid, there is an ormolu candleholder, as shown.

Condition: Very good. There are some tiny nibbles to the top edge of the bases, but these are barely visible.
