Description

This is a pair of very attractive Onyx and Gilt Brass Campana Urns of classical form. The bases are flat backed, as they are meant to sit on a mantelpiece, possibly as part of a clock garniture. The onyx urns are gilt brass or ormolu topped and lined, with a gadrooned edge, have scroll handles finished with lions head masks and have reeded bases, upon circular socles. The bases are stepped, with a decorative top edging in gilt brass, onyx sides and each have four circular adjustable gilt brass feet.

Condition: Very good. Slight sliver of missing onyx to the top back edge of the base of one of the urns, next to the decorative edging, but only noticeable on very close inspection.
