Mahogany Regency hall chair by Gillows circa 1815 with Roman and Greek architectural influences, the top cresting rail has bold Greek key decoration, the back panel has a step oval centre and moulded perimeter, the solid mahogany seat is also stepped with a reeded moulding to the edge, resting on fine octagonal tapered legs which are stamped WH the Gillows journeyman’s initials, the chair is in very good condition.
