Description

A early 18ct estate made Windsor chair. This would have been put together by I guess a rather unskilled chap on the farm. He’s used anything that came to hand, hence the legs are rosewood and the style of goldsmith the front legs Are typical of a goldsmith . the wheelback splat from another chair oak the seat elm the repair at the back yew, in fact not a repair but a cut into the hoop to fit the splat it’s got great rustic charm and a rare thing to find. All we have done is give this a good wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt and have given it a light polish .
