Description

This attractive press looks to date from the late nineteenth century. There are no maker's marks or labels, but the piece is probably of continental origin. It is made primarily from cast iron, with tin liners. The screw thread is in good working order. The press leans backwards at an angle slightly on its feet - we are not sure whether this is intentional, but can see no obvious damage to the feet. It is a lovely decorative interior piece.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some knocking and wear consistent with age and use. We are not sure whether there are any parts missing. The press leans backwards at an angle. There is some surface rusting and corrosion and the piece would benefit from a careful clean.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
43cm high, 26cm wide, (to maximums).
