Description

Pair of cast metal candlesticks, dating from the second half of C19th. Three branches, hand-painted porcelain plaques and mounts. The painting is of hunting scenes, featuring gentlemen on horse-back, hounds and stags. Unsigned on the front- there is something written on the back of some of the plaques but we have not been able to make this out and have not attempted to disassemble the candlesticks.

Condition: Fair, with some grubbiness, wear and damage. Some misshaping. Some losses to the decorative mounts in places, and one of the candlesticks has its decorative bow mount on the wrong side (it is on the back of the candlestick rather than the front). The painted scenes are dirty and one of the central panels is loose and damaged.

Measurements: 36cm high, 19cm wide, 9.5cm deep. To maximums, approximate.
