Description

This lovely large tureen is marked in script on the inside of the lid 'Chamberlains Worcester', together with an impressed '2'. We believe it to date from the first half of the nineteenth century. The tureen has a lovely shape with handles to either side and is supported on four feet. It is transfer printed in black and grey with Indian-style scenes featuring Indian buildings and animals. The tureen retains its lid.

Condition: Overall in very good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There are some maufacturing imperfections as might be expected. There is some slight chipping to one side of the ladle hole of the lid. There is some hairline cracking around the feet.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
25cm high, 34cm long.
