Description

This pair of antique Victorian fire dogs are very much in the arts & crafts style. We would estimate them to date from the mid-nineteenth century. They have a fretwork design beneath the central resting bar, claw feet at the front and a twisted upper post at the front. They have no maker's marks, but they are craftsman-made pieces.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. They have some knocking and denting as might be expected, and some of the joints are a little worn. They have some tarnishing and surface corrosion in places.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
32.5cm high, 17cm wide, 20cm deep.
