Description

This set of four antique dining chairs date from the early nineteenth century. They have a lovely elegant style, but please note that they are in need of restoration. There are three standard chairs and one carver chair. The chairs have mahogany frames with lovely carved roudels between the back rails. They have removable upholstered seat pads, with later upholstery, and are supported on swept legs. The carver chair has attractive swept arms and turned arm supports.

Condition: Overall this set of chairs are in need need of some restoration. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork, which is grubby, dry and dulled and would benefit from being repolished. There is some significant cracking around the joints, and some significant movement in the joints, which would benefit from attention. One of the top rails is loose. They have some signs of woodworm - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution. The upholstery has some wear and fading and is not original.

Carver Chair- 85cm high, 55cm wide, 60cm deep (to maximums) 46cm high to seat
Standard Chair - 85cm high, 48cm wide, 56cm deep (to maximums) 46cm high to seat.
