Georgian Mahogany Three Drawer Chest of Drawers

Description

This antique chest of drawers dates from the first half of the nineteenth century. It is constructed primarily from solid mahogany. It consists of three long graduated drawers with later brass handles and escutcheons. All the drawers are lockable, but please note that no key is present. The chest is supported on bracket feet.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. It may originaly have been part of a larger piece of furniture such as a chest on chest and does show some signs of alteration and restoration. There is some chipping to the veneers at the back of the top. There are some marks and some ring marks to the top. There is some knocking and denting around the edges and some areas of minor wood loss. One of the handle backplates of the top drawer is upside down.

Overall - 81cm high, 111cm wide, 55cm deep (to maximums).
