Description

This lovely antique ginger jar looks to be of Chinese origins and we would estimate it to date from the second half of the nineteenth century. It has a wooden lid, which may be a later replacement. It is heavy, weighing around 1.6kg and of a good larger size.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. There are some manufacturing imperfections as might be expected and some flaws in the glaze. There is some grubbiness inside and some grubby marks to the outside. There is some surface scratching and wear. The wooden lid may be a later replacement and has some fading and wear.

22cm high, 20cm diameter (to maximums).
