Description

This antique extending dining table dates from the late nineteenth century. It is constructed from what we believe to be solid mahogany. The table has canted corners and turned reeded legs. It retains one original leaves and a winding handle. It would seat six people when extended.

Condition: Overall this table is in need of some sympathetic restoration and has some wear and damage consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork and the piece is overall a little faded. There is some heavy scratching and marking to the top and the table top is warped to one end - this side of the table top also has a significant shrinkage crack which would benefit from repair. There is also a more minor shrinkage crack to the other side. One of the legs is broken at the bottom and requires repair - this castor is wobbly and does not sit straight. The back of the leaf has some paint marks and residue. The winding handle has some surface rusting.

Overall - 71.5cm high, 103cm wide, 107cm long (without leaf), 147cm long (fully extended) (to maximums).
