Description

This lovely antique overmantle mirror dates from around the 1820s/30s. It is of very large proportions and is over 2m high. The mirror has a wooden ebonised frame with carved and gesso gilt decoration. It retains its original mirrored glass. Please note that it is extremely heavy and would need to be moved with care.

Condition: Overall this lovely mirror is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The frame has some chipping, wear and loss, with some cracking and loss to the gesso. Some areas of the decoration are loose. There are some signs of restoration and repair and some re-gluing. The frame looks to have been touched up in places. The mirror has some black flecks and corrosion as might be expected.
