Description

This lovely antique ewer is of large proportions, measuring approx. 33cm high. However, please note that it does have some damage and the handle has been broken and reglued. The ewer features an intricate design showing a boy climbing a tree towards a birds nest, and on the other side him sitting on the branch holding the nest. The ewer has a hinged pewter lid. It is marked on the bottom for T.J.&J. Meyer's Dale Hall Pottery and the Victorian registration diamond on the base dates the piece to 1850.

Condition: Overall in fair condition with some wear and damage consistent with age and use, and would benefit from some restoration. The piece is grubby. There are some manufacturing flaws and cracking in the pottery. The handle has been broken and re-glued in several places and the glue is yellowed with age. The ewer is also cracked to the base and to the back underneath the handle. The pewter lid also has some damage and has been re-glued around the back.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
33cm high,18cm wide spout to handle, 16.5cm diameter.
