Description

This antique overmantle mirror dates from around the 1820s/30s. Please note that the frame damaged and is in need of some restoration. The mirror has wood and gesso gilt frame with Roman style neoclassical design and column supports. There are three bevel-edged mirrors which are more modern replacements.

Condition: The frame of the mirror is quite badly damaged and is in need of some restoration. There are some significant areas of damage and loss to the top of the frame. There is some further scuffing and wear to the finish as might be expected and some cracking to the gesso decoration. The gilt-paintwork looks to have been over-painted or touched up at some point. The mirrors have some scratching and some dark marks and corrosion as might be expected.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 90cm high, 138cm wide, 10cm deep (to maximums).
