Description

This lovely antique overmantle mirror dates from around the 1820s/30s. It has a lovely wood, plaster and gesso gilt frame with swag decoration at the top and decorative mounts at the bottom. The mirrored glass is bevel-edged.

Condition: Overall this mirror is in usuable condition, but does have with some wear and damage consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the finish as might be expected and some cracking and loss to the plaster and gesso decoration. The gilt paintwork looks to have been over-painted or touched up at some point and is now scuffed and dulled. One of the decorative mounts at the bottom is a little loose. The mirror has some scratching and black corrosion spots as might be expected.

Overall - 106cm high, 143cm wide, 9cm deep (to maximums).
