Description

This lovely small antique chest of drawers dates from late eighteenth to early nineteenth century. It is constructed from solid oak. It consists of three long drawers that are graduated in size. The chest is supported onn shaped bracket feet. The drawers retains (replacement) brass handles, locks and escutcheons, but please note that no keys are present. This is a nice country piece, of a good small size, but please note that it is in need of some tlc.

Condition: Overall this lovely antique chest is in usuable condition but does have some wear consistent with age and use and would benefit from some tlc. There is some heavy scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall faded. There is some marking and staining to the top, and some areas of wood loss in places. There is some wood shrinkage splitting to the top and sides. The drawers are stiff and the drawer runners would benefit from attention. There are some signs of old restoration and repair - the bottom drawer front has been broken and repaired, and there are some repairs to the feet. No key is present for the locks. There are some signs of old woodworm - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 77cm high, 83.5cm wide, 43.5cm deep (to maximums).
