Description

This lovely antique buffet is of large proportions and dates from the early twentieth century, although it is older in style. It is constructed from mainly solid mahogany. The buffet has two drawers beneath the top, and another two drawers beneath the lower tier. Both the top and lower tier have a small back rail. The drawers retain brass handles. The buffet is supported on square legs, but in between these is an undercarriage with four brass castors with rubber wheels to allow for easy movement. There is a label to the underside of one of drawers with a company asset number on dated 1946.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some white scuff marks to the front legs and some scuffing, scratches and staining to the surfaces. The metal parts have some surface corrosion.
