Description

Victorian duchess dressing table, dating from the second half of the C19th. Lovely shape with shaped columns to the front. Behind the work surface are two banks of small drawers with a lift-up compartment in the middle. Single hidden drawer beneath the work surface. Shaped bevel-edged mirror with carved supports.

Condition: Fair, with some scuffing, wear and damage consistent with age and use. Would benefit from some restoration work. Some fading. Some areas of lifting, loss and damage to the veneer, especially around the base. Some of the handles of the small drawers are damaged with loss. Some shrinkage cracking to the mirror frame and mirror has some dark marks and corrosion flecking. Some ring marks and scratching to the work surface. The back-board behind the banks of drawers has been replaced at some point.

Measurements: 165cm high, 122.5cm wide, 60cm deep. To maximums, approximate.
