Description

We believe these to be a pair of horse & cart carriage arms. They are made from solid oak and date from around the end of the nineteenth century. They came to us from a workshop of Upton House, a large country estate in Oxfordshire now owned by the National Trust. They have what we believe to be iron fixings and retain a chain to one side.

Condition: Overall in as-found condition with some wear consistent with age and storage. They are grubby and marked and have some signs of old woodworm. The metalware is tarnished and has some surface corrosion. There are various attaching holes that have been made over the years.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 336.5cm long (to maximums).
