Description

This attractive mahogany chest of drawers dates from the second half of the nineteenth century. It is a tall chest and consists of four deep linen drawers. The drawers retain turned wooden handles, and also retain their locks and escutcheons, although please note that no key is present. The chest has carved shoulders at the top and is supported bun feet. .

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition but does have some quite heavy wear consistent with age and use. There is some heavy scuffing, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall faded. There are some areas of wood loss, including some moulding from around the top at one side at the back and to the top corner of the top drawer front. There are some paint marks. The drawers are stiff and the drawer runners need attention - the top drawer is missing a runner to one side. There is some heavy scuffing and dark marks to the top.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 141cm high, 99cm wide, 62cm deep (to maximums).
