Description

This attractive Edwardian cabinet dates from the early twentieth century. It is made from mostly solid mahogany with a polished finish. The cabinet has two doors with lovely carved panels, which open to reveal a single fixed shaped shelf with a gilt-painted front rail. Above the cupboard section is a single drawer. The cabinet is supported on tall cabriole legs with a carved shaped apron to the front and sides. The drawer and doors retain their original handles, but the door handle no longer turns to catch.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There is some scratching to the top. There is some shrinkage cracking to the drawer base and the moulding beneath the cupboard is loose to one side. The handles and the shelf rail look to have been over-painted in gold paint at some point.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 109cm high, 83cm wide, 46cm deep (to maximums).
