Description

This lovely set of six vintage dining chairs look to date from the first half of the twentieth century. There are four standard chairs and two carvers. The chairs have oak frames and over-upholstered seats and backs. The upholstery looks to be original. The front chair legs have carved decoration to the edges and lovely carved serpent shoulders at the front and side.

Condition: Overall this handsome set of chairs are in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and they are overall a little faded. Three of the serpent carvings are loose but present, one at the front and two at the side, and these require repair. One of the chair seats is sunken and requires attention, and the other seats do also have some wear and sinking. The chairs are solid with only minimal movement in the joints. The upholstery has some grubbiness and fading and some of the braiding is loose.

Carver Chair - 92cm high, 57cm wide, 50cm deep 46.5cm high to seat
Standard Chair - 89.5cm high, 47cm wide, 46cm deep 46.5cm high to set.
