Description

This lovely antique crib appears to be a marriage piece. It is heavily carved in the Gothic revival style, and has a crest on one side and the date 1891 carved into the other side. It is constructed mostly from what we believe to be solid stained birch, with some oak, and has two handle holes at the top. It is supported on turned legs with turned stretchers. It would make a nice planter.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some areas of wood loss, including to the spindles, and there are some areas of old restoration and repair. There is some woodworm damage, primarily to the base - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 78cm high, 101cm long, 47cm wide (to maximums).
