WW1 Military Medal Group Trio RA with ephemera

1 of 6
Description
This group of medals was awarded during the First World War to Corporal Cyril Sangster of the Royal Artillery. Present in the group is the Military Medal (awarded for bravery), the British War Medal and the Allied Victory Medal. All are inscribed around the edge with Cpl. Sangster's name and details. Also present are some other items relating to Cpl. Sangster, who survived the war to become a policeman. These items include his dog tags, his ribbon bar, a 9ct. gold fob with a picture of him on one side and his sweetheart on the other, an album of photographs, some related to his military service, his certificate of demobilisation, his certificate of employment during the war, and some letters relating to the death of a family friend. Also present is his Second World War Defence Medal, still retained within its original box. The group came together to us with some paper clippings, etc., mostly related to his post-war life as a policeman, and these are included with the bundle for interest.Condition: The medals are tarnished and have some surface wear, but are in good condition. The ribbons have some light discolouration. His ribbon bar is badly faded and frayed. The ephemera has some discolouration and wear as might be expected. The photograph album has some age-related wear and damage. Please note that most of the paper clippings related to his work as a policeman are badly damage and frayed.
