Description

This antique oil lamp looks to date from the late nineteenth century. It is a recent barn find, and in need of restoration. The lamp has no chimney or shade. It has a twin burner, which we believe to be made of brass, and a separate heavy base with three shaped griffin legs, which we believe to made of bronze. There are no maker's marks or labels. It is very much in the gothic style, and cleaned up would be a lovely piece.

Condition: Overall in poor condition and in need of restoration. The lamp is heavily oxidised and has some surface corrosion. The shade holder is misshapen. It is very grubby. There is no chinmey or shade.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
21cm high, 20cm diameter.
