Description

This lovely early platter looks to date from the late eighteenth century. It is hand-decorated in blue and white with a salt glaze. It has no maker's marks, but we believe it to be of English - possibly Staffordshire - origins.

Condition: Overall in fair condition with some wear and damage consistent with age and use. There is some significant chipping and nibbling around the edges and a hairline crack extending about half way across the diameter of the piece, which it appears has been caused by a small hanging? hole that has been made in the back. There is some wear and loss to the glaze around the edge. There are some manufacturing imperfections and flaws as might be expected.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
5cm high, 32cm diameter.
