Description

This lovely antique dressing mirror dates from c.1860. It is mahogany veneered over a solid wood carcass with satinwood cross-banding to the mirror frame. The mirror is oval and is adjustable. The base has a lovely serpentine shape. We believe the mirrored glass to be original and it is overall a lovely elegant piece.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall quite faded. There is some wood shrinkage cracking to the veneers in places, including around the mirror frame and some minor chips to the veneers. The mirror has some black corrosion flecking. The piece shows some signs of restoration and repair, and has some more modern screws underneath.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 71cm high, 47cm wide, 26cm deep (to maximums).
