Description

This lovely piece of English folk art features a hand-made cloth ballerina doll with wire surround contained within a Victorian glass dome. The doll is probably a little later than the dome and looks to date from around the 1920s/30s.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. The doll is a little grubby and discoloured. She has some minor fraying to her outfit. The tableau is a little loose. The glass dome has some manufacturing imperfections to the glass as might be expected. There is some roughness and nibbling around the base of the dome. The painted wooden base is grubby, scuffed and worn.

Doll - 24cm high
Dome - 34cm high, 23.5cm base (diameter).
