Description

This unusual item is a pair of Edwardian bellows that has been later decorated with pieces of C19th pottery. It is a piece of art in its own right, and we believe to have been put together around the 1960s. There is a china cherub carrying a letter in the middle. The bellows are made from wood and leather with a brass end and are in good working order.

Condition: Overall fair condition with some wear consistent with age and use. It is a little grubby and would benefit from a careful clean. There are some manufacturing imperfections as might be expected. The flowers have some significant chipping around the edgesand one of the pansies near the bottoom has been reglued. The bellows themselves have some wear and the wood is scuffed, marked and dented. There is something (probably a fixing) missing from the back of the bellows. The brass end is a little misshapen and some of the metal fixings have some surface rusting.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
39cm long, 14cm wide (to maximums).
