Description

This lovely vintage teddy bear has no maker's marks or labels, but has the characteristics of an English bear and was possibly made by Chiltern. He has mohair fur, (replacement) felt pads, glass eyes, black claw stitching and a black-stitched nose. He is soft stuffed with a hard stuffed head. We believe him to date from the 1940s/50s.

Condition: Overall in good condition, with some playwear consistent with age. He is overall dusty and faded, and his mohair fur is thinning with some balding patches. His is missing his mouth stitching and some of the stuffing in his snout has moved making it feel a little empty. He shows some signs of restoration and repair - his felt pads are replacements and there are some signs of re-stitching to his seams. One arm joint is loose.
