Description

This lovely pair of antique wall lights date from c.1900. They have brass wall mounts, and would originally have been powered by gas, but were converted at some point to electric. However the fittings are old and the lamps need to be rewired by a professional electrician prior to use. They retain what we believe to be their original glass shades with etched decoration and ridged cranberry glass rims. One of the shades has Threfalls Brewery Company Ld etched near the top. The shades are of nice quality.

Condition: Overall in good condition, but in need of rewiring by a professional electrican prior to use. The metalwork is grubby and has some tarnishing and surface corrosion in places. There is some misshaping in places. Parts are loose. The shades have some damage and chipping around the fitting rim, worse to the shade with the brewery etching. There are some imperfections in the glass as might be expected and some surface scratching and wear.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Brackets - 29cm wide by 22cm high (to maximums)
Shades - 6.8cm diameter at top, 16.8cm diameter at bottom.
