Description

This attractive antique frame dates from the mid-nineteenth century. It is constructed from wood with lovely rosewood veneers. The frame has a gilt-painted inner edge and is glazed. It is of good quality. The frame retains its wooden back board, but the planks are split.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, grubbiness and wear as might be expected and some scratching. There is some slight chipping to the veneers at the corners and edges and some shrinkage cracking to the corners. The backboard planks are split.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Picture Recess (back) - 54cm by 43.5cm, 0.5cm deep
Visible Image (front) - 48.5cm by 38cm
Overall - 64cm by 54cm, 3.5cm deep.
