Description

This pedestal desk dates from around the 1930s, but is older in style. It is of large proportions, and is almost six foot wide. The desk is constructed primarily from mahogany, some solid, some veneered. It is a partner's desk, meaning that the pedestals are double sided. On one side are three drawers, a small drawer at the top and bottom with a deeper filing drawer in the middle, and on the other side is a cupboard with a removable wooden shelf inside. Both the pedestals have the same arrangement and have panelled sides. The top has a green leather top with gilt tooling. The drawers and cupboards retain their locks (one cupboard looks to be a replacement), but please note that no key is present. The desk dismantles into three parts for ease of transportation.

Condition: Overall this desk is in usuable condition, but does have some wear consistent with age and use and would benefit from some tlc. The woodwork is scuffed and worn, heavily so in places. The spacing bars beneath the top are missing at both sides. No key is present for the locks. The leather top is faded and scuffed, heavily so in places, and has some holes and marks.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 75cm high, 182cm wide, 107cm deep (to maximums).
