Unusual Victorian Thomas Forester Majolica Jug

1 of 6
Description
This unusual pottery jug was made by Thomas Forester & Sons Ltd. and is marked on the base in black with the maker's initials and their phoenix mark. The jug is humourous in style, and is in the shape of a cat which is very Louis Wain in appearance. On the back of the jug is the wording: 'This is the cat that killed the rat.'Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. The glaze is overall crazed and there looks to be some minor hairline cracking in places. There are some manufacturing imperfections as might be expected, and some chipping around the base, some of which was probably done at the time of manufacture.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
25cm high.
