Description

This vintage rocking horse came to us from the outbuilding of a Oxfordshire country estate, and as such is grubby and in need of a good clean and some renovation. It has no maker's marks or labels. We would estimate it to date from around the 1920s. The horse sits on a wooden base. The horse itself has a wooden carcass with a plush fabric covering. It has a leatherette sadle and bridle, glass eyes and the remains of a horse hair mane and tail.

Condition: Overall in need of some renovation. The horse is grubby, worn and has some damage. The rocking mechanism still works, but the wooden base is scuffed and worn and the metal fixings have some surface rusting. Much of the horse's tail and mane are missing and his reigns are also partially missing. His saddle is worn and missing some parts.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 118.5cm high, 143cm wide, 46cm deep (to maximums).
