Description

This attractive mahogany swing mirror dates from c.1870. It has a mahogany frame, some solid, some veneered over solid wood. The mirror base has an attractive serpentine front and the mirror has decorative serpentine supports. The mirror itself is oval in shape and is adjustable. The base of the mirror has two velvet-lined compartments with hinged lift-up lids. The piece is supported on bun feet.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There is some wood shrinkage cracking to the mirror frame. The woodwork has some marks and staining. The mirror has some slight corrosion.
