Description

This Edwardian knowle sofa is of a nice small size and has a nice design, but would benefit from re-upholstery. It has a sprung seat with two removable seat cushions and drop-arms that can be tied at the top. It is supported on more modern plastic and metal castors. It is over-upholstered. The upholstery is not original and is dated, grubby, faded and worn. We would estimate the sofa to date from c.1900-1910.

Condition: Overall this handsome sofa would benefit from reupholstery. The upholstery is dated, faded, grubby and worn and has some fraying and holing in places. The joints are solid with only minimal movement. Some of the securing knobs on the top of the sofa are loose and have had tape tied around them at some point to try and make them more stable. They would benefit from repair.

Overall - 77cm high (not including knobs), 162cm wide (arms up), 88cm deep (to maximums) 42cm high to seat (including cushion).
