Description

This lovely pair of antique chairs date from c.1830. They are constructed from solid wood - we believe it to be a mix of beech and elm, although please note that we are not 100% sure of the wood types. The chairs have rounded wheelbacks with turned rounded spindles and a central decorative backsplat with roundel. They have shaped seats and are supported on turned splayed legs with a H stretcher. They are of lovely quality and have a nice antique patina.

Condition: Overall this handsome pair of chairs are in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the chairs are overall slightly faded. One roundel has an area of wood loss to one side and the other has a wood shrinkage crack. The joints are solid with only minimal movement.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 89cm high, 45cm wide, 46.5cm deep (to maximums) 43cm high to seat.
