Description

This lovely pair of kitchen chairs date from the second half of the nineteenth century. They are constructed from what we believe to be beech and elm with shaped seats, turned spindle backs and turned legs with turned H-stretchers. They are of lovely quality and retain a good colour and patina.

Condition: Overall this handsome pair of chairs are in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and they are overall a little faded. The chairs are solid with only minimal movement in the joints. They have some signs of old restoration in places and some slight signs in places of old woodworm - this is not active but has been retreated as a precaution. Please note that as the chairs are handmade pieces there are slight differences in the finish.

The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 82cm high, 46cm wide, 53cm deep (to maximums) 44cm high to seat.
