Description

This lovely pair of antique glass lustres date from c.1880. They are made from what appears to be coated glass. The glass is coated in a deep red / ruby colour. The lustres have shaped tops and gilt decoration. They retain a complete set of antique cut glass drops. Please note that one is slightly deeper in colour than the other.

Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some nibbling and minor chipping around the edges of both the lustres and the drops, and around the holes where the drops are attached, as might be expected. The gilt decoration is significantly worn. The metal fixings have some surface corrosion and some misshaping. They are overall slightly grubby. Please note that one is slightly deeper in colour than the other.

33cm high, 16cm diameter of base.
